Information You Send
Name, phone, and address entries in the search widgets are sent to the third-party provider that supplies sponsored results. Whittier Residents Directory does not keep a copy of those searches on its own servers. If you contact the operators, the message and contact details are used to read and answer that request.
Routine Technical Logs
Hosting systems may record an IP address, browser type, page path, referring page, and time stamp. These ordinary logs help diagnose errors and understand traffic in aggregate. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics or advertising measurement when enabled by the hosting or advertising service.
Why the Data Is Used
Technical information is used to operate the reference, address faults, measure visits, and improve content. The operators do not sell a visitor list or build an individual profile from the pages someone reads.
External Record Portals
Links lead to the Los Angeles County Assessor, RR/CC, courts, election offices, Whittier departments, libraries, archives, and other third-party services. Their own privacy statements control what a visitor submits after leaving this reference. The sponsored search provider likewise sets its own rules, terms, and retention practices.
Service Providers and Disclosure
Hosting, analytics, and advertising vendors may process the technical data described above. Information may also be disclosed when a valid legal process requires it. It is not otherwise shared as a visitor directory.
Security and Retention
The pages are served over an encrypted connection. Logs are kept only while they serve the operational or measurement purpose for which they were collected. No account password or user profile is created on this site.
Children and Minors
The reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. The operators do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor has sent information, contact the operators so it can be reviewed and deleted where appropriate.
California Privacy Choices
California privacy rights may include knowing, deleting, correcting, opting out of sale or sharing, and limiting the use of sensitive personal information under the California Consumer Privacy Act, Civil Code §§1798.100 et seq., as amended. A request can be sent through the Contact page. Because this reference retains very little, a request will usually concern the contact mailbox or available server logs.
The California Public Records Act, Government Code §§7920.000 et seq., governs records held by public agencies, not records controlled by this reference. Requests to remove or correct a deed, court docket, voter record, parcel assessment, or city file must go to the responsible Los Angeles County, California, or Whittier custodian.

A revised version will be posted at this address. Continued use after the revision date means the updated policy applies to later visits.
